Beds and Sponsorships for Morning Star

Back in 2013, The Giving Exchange was founded based on an encounter between our founders and the Morning Star Children’s Home of Kiambu, Kenya. Over the years the mission and reach of TGE have expanded, but Morning Star has been and always will be a home close to our hearts that we will continue to support through school sponsorships for the children and various sustainable programs.

On average across all grades, the cost per student is $250 per year.

In 2020, your donations made it possible for us to hire local fundis (handymen) to make 60 beds for the Morning Star Children's Home and many struggling families in the neighborhood and sponsor twelve students from the home in their educations. This will provide not only schooling options but also onsite tutoring support provided by additional reading & writing teachers, which has proven to raise test scores significantly.
